WHO WE ARE
Our goal is to make tourism a centerpiece of Harlem’s economic development efforts and will feature the neighborhood’s cultural, arts, entertainment, dining, and shopping attractions. Please get in touch with us if you’d like to join our effort and promote Harlem’s many attractions. The Harlem Tourism Board (HTB) launched its “Our Harlem, Your Harlem” campaign in 2013 to promote the uptown community as one of New York City’s “must-see” tourist destinations.
The major objective of the Harlem Tourism Board will be to create partnerships with tourism-related businesses in Harlem and members of the New York City tourism industry to develop a mutually beneficial economic growth engine for one of the most famous urban communities in the world. Harlem is currently the most popular urban tourist destination in America known internationally for its history and culture; states William “Tony” Rogers president of the Harlem Tourism Board and co-founder of Harlem Week Inc. the largest urban cultural and economic development festival in the United States.

The Harlem Tourism Board’s (HTB) major goal is to create partnerships with tourism-related businesses in Harlem and members of New York City and New York State’s tourism industry and become a mutually beneficial economic growth engine for the best-known urban community in the world.
“Harlem is currently the 2nd most requested urban tourist destination in New York City and is known internationally for its history and culture” states William “Tony” Rogers, President of the Harlem Tourism Board and co-founder of Harlem Week Inc. the largest urban cultural and economic development event in the United States. The mission of HTB will be to connect the dots that will allow the growing Harlem Tourism Industry to become a major economic development tool that creates business and career opportunities.
The Harlem Tourism Board is the Economic Development and Marketing Arm for the rapidly growing Harlem Tourism Industry. HTB is your one-stop-shop for developing contacts, relationships, and counsel on how to explore and navigate the best known urban community in the world.

Get to Know Us
Tony Rogers President of the Harlem Tourism Board is a Strategic Marketing Consultant, Writer, Wellness Practitioner, Mental Science practitioner, Taoist Ki Energy Master. Martial Artist, and Radio host.
For the past 39 years, Tony has been an Executive Board Member of the Greater Harlem Chamber of Commerce and is the Co-Founder of Harlem Week.
"Sugar Hill" born Harlem Native Richard Cox is an NYC Licensed Tour Guide and Executive Director of Team Unity Incorporated--a small not for profit 501 (c) 3 charity that advocates for multicultural educational programs nationally.
Team Unity Incorporated is the parent company of the "UNITY Tour Experience [Organizers of the Harlem Subway Arts Tours, Harlem Food Tasting Tours and the Father's Day "Taste of Harlem."] as well as "UNITY Sports Productions" (N.Y.S. Licensed Sports Agents, Promoters of the Harlem Skyscraper Cycling Classic & Co-Organizers of the Rucker Pro Legends)--two of Harlem's most recognized "cultural preservation" sporting events.
George Sainteus is currently an Agency Principal at the Sainteus Agency, which specializes in risk management, and commercial property and casualty insurance. Prior to this endeavor, he held an Assistant Treasurer position at GenRe. He is also the past Executive Director of Strong Movement Inc., an independent 501(c)(3) charitable organization that focuses on Type 2 Diabetes prevention and management. George is currently Vice President of Administration for the Metro New York Chapter of the National Black MBA Association, where he oversees the Corporate, Employment, Programing, and Student Relations, Teams. He is also currently a board member of the Harlem Fashion Week.
George’s background includes over a decade of experience across various industries including non-profit organizations, retail, global financial services, and insurance. He is a change agent with insightful perspectives and with a personal mission to be of service to others while uplifting the community.

Matt has developed and created the newest Black-Owned nationally distributed cable TV network, Soul City which was launched on June 23, 2016, to over 40 million homes nationwide. He is a creative visionary that gives life to the unimaginable by championing for the voiceless brands through media & art marketing strategies.

She is the founder of Taste Harlem Food & Cultural Tours created in 2002 when Jacqueline Orange moved to Harlem from Chicago When friends and family visited, they explored the different neighborhoods in search of food, culture, and entertainment. Every outing was a new experience for the senses – great food, fascinating culture, and great music.
In 2008, Jacqueline co-founded ArtCrawl Harlem, Inc., a non-profit art gallery tour developed to showcase local galleries and their support for local artist.

Born in Brooklyn, and raised in Harlem New York City Melissa is a Business Consultant specializing in Marketing, Events, and Public Relations. Melissa has a bachelor’s degree from the State University of New York at Binghamton and an MBA in Marketing & Management from LIU Brooklyn. She has over 10 years of combined experience in retail sales, marketing, hospitality, entertainment, and event management industries. She works with a wide range of clients from small businesses to large corporations in various capacities. Currently, Melissa is working with Ponty Bistro & Renaissance Harlem as their Marketing, PR & Events Manager.
Melissa has worked on co-branding and marketing projects with companies such as The Apollo, Bad Boy Records, Hellman’s, Diet Pepsi, American Express, Rush Card, and Citi to name a few.
DR. FLORA LUYANDO

Dr. Flora Luyando completed her Doctorates in Acupuncture and Chinese Medicine at Pacific College of Oriental Medicine- San Diego. Dr. Flora Luyando attended Pacific College of Oriental Medicine - NY where she received her Masters of Science in Oriental Medicine and her Associate Degree in Massage Therapy. Dr. Flora, as she is affectionately called, is also a Chinese Herbalist and attended West Virginia University where she studied Dental Hygiene, as well.
Dr. Flora's mission is to provide Eastern and Western treatments to all who seek to live a healthy and balanced lifestyle.
Dr. Flora is a New York State licensed Acupuncturist and New York State licensed Massage Therapist. She is also a member of the Acupuncture Society of New York and the American Massage Therapy Association.
Dr. Flora Luyando is bilingual in English and Spanish.
The Restaurant Scientist TM
With a Master’s in Food Business degree from the prestigious Culinary Institute of America, Jason Wallace is an operational scientist. Wallace’s client list reflects all genres of foodservice, including full-service restaurants, bistros, limited-service cafés, quick service restaurants, catering, and institutional dining operations.
While consulting and overseeing nine US Navy food service facilities located in seven states including Hawaii, within 10 months Wallace’s scientific analysis and cost control procedures increased operating efficiencies that resulted in a reduction of operating expenses in excess of $300,000.
As a 17-year foodservice educator, Wallace has served as adjunct professor at the New York Restaurant School, the Art Institute, Hudson County College, and Westchester County College.
Wallace’s educational seminars for leadership development have been attended by prominent restaurant companies including Dallas BBQ, Tony Di Napoli’s, Bogota Latin Bistro, Dominos Pizza, Dunkin Donuts, Ayza Wine, and Chocolate Bar, Havana Central, Fatty Crew, Bierhaus NYC, and Atomic Wings.
Wallace has been a 20-year active member of the New York State Restaurant Association (NYSRA) holding various leadership positions such as Treasurer, Vice Chairman of the Board of Directors, and Chairman of the Board of Directors.
She is an experimental, creative, and innovative leader with successful campaign creation, performance, and strategy. She specializes in building strategic partnerships through ingenious management, a boundless creation process, and a strong, resourceful network. As a young executive in a dynamic industry, she finds herself learning new ways to maneuver industry changes. With Soul City, she’s created, proposed, and successfully executed many projects. She is the owner and founder of the newly developed company ‘Nomeona’. It is a creative marketing company focused on brand awareness, development, and strategic partnerships.

The Apollo Theater envisions a new American cannon centered on contributions to the performing arts by artists of the African diaspora, in America and beyond.
CENTER FOR BLACK CULTURE
Established with the collections of Arturo Alfonso Schomburg 95 years ago, the Schomburg has collected, preserved, and provided access to materials documenting black life in America and worldwide. It has also promoted the study and interpretation of the history and culture of people of African descent. In 2015, the Schomburg won the National Medal for Museum and Library Service and in January 2017, the Schomburg Center was named a National Historic Landmark by the National Park Service, recognizing its vast collection of materials that represent the history and culture of people of African descent through a global, transnational perspective. Today, the Schomburg continues to serve the community not just as a center and a library, but also as a space that encourages lifelong education and exploration.
ABYSSINIAN BAPTIST CHURCH
It was built in 1922–23 and was designed by Charles W. Bolton & Son in Gothic Revival and Tudor Revival styles – it has also been described as "Collegiate Gothic". It features stained glass windows and marble furnishings.
During the 20th century, prominent ministers of the church included Adam Clayton Powell Sr. and Adam Clayton Powell Jr. Over the years, the church has served as a place for African American spirituality, politics and community. The Abyssinian Baptist Church congregation traces its history to 1809, when seamen from the Ethiopian Empire (then known as Abyssinia) helped lead a protest against segregated church seating. It worshiped in several places before building the present church structure.
